I’ve known & admired Tauska thru these Internets. 😊 Being a design and photography enthusiast I’m always drawn to those creatives who share their talent, beautiful work and inspirations with their followers and Tauska is one! Her photos & videos of her interiors, tiny houses, and a recent trip to Costa Rica are always eye-catching & inspiring. Tauska so kindly took some time off from her work & play in Costa Rica to answer the HomeGirlbycrm questionnaire. ❤️

What’s New & Good? Ha! What’s new and good is that I didn't break my neck last week when falling off a horse in Costa Rica! I was asked to design and build a Casitas ( Tiny House) on the property of a beautiful home in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. I was able to get it up and 80% finished within 10 days. I met with the Architect, Roberto, who is just incredible, and with whom I plan to work on many more build collabs in Costa Rica, including my own Tiny House, that I plan to build in 2022. Purchasing a piece of land there is very affordable.

When you think of Home, what comes to mind? I have lived so many places in my life and time. Home to me is a place in my heart. I feel at home when, at any given moment, that calm and peace in my heart speak to me. I recall such a place from my childhood - looking out of my grandmother's picture window to a terrarium. It was filled with lush ferns and moist leaves, colorful florals, and succulents. That window was magic for me. Often when I design, this vision and peace come over me, especially when designing bedrooms and places where people gather.

What Song or music reminds you of Home? Actually a lot of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Tracy Chapman, and Joni Mitchell. I think because I grew up in the Folk-Rock era of the '70s among the West Hollywood Hills. This is when I was most creative and impressionable.

What three things must be in & around your Home? Plants, Art, Books

What is your favorite room in your Home? Anywhere there is an outdoor element is my favorite part of the home. Be that the kitchen, bedroom, living room, or bathroom...as long as there is an outdoor element...that is my favorite part of the home.

What’s your favorite Home-cooked meal? TACOS or any succulent, saucy healthy meals where vegetables are juicy, flavorful, and spicy!

When you leave Home these days where are you going & where can you NOT wait to go? When I leave home these days it’s for travels. I will head back to Costa Rica, where I will build my own Tiny House... But really I cant wait to go back to Paris to visit some dear friends for a while ... then Japan and then I would like to go to Uruguay.

What’s your Home away from Home? Anyplace that speaks to my heart. I am a true Nomadic and the earth is my home away from home.

What’s been some good old-fashioned Home training you live by? Tell The Truth in everything. Leave other people’s stuff alone.

What three people - living or deceased - would you have in your Home for an intimate evening of music, food & fun? Cicely Tyson, Tina Turner, My Son Trusaun, My Mother Bret, Ertha Kitt. There are really too many people to name that I would like to have and host.
