The easy to digest items are the aspirations, inspirations, and information that support our curiosities and passions. They motivate us to enjoy and celebrate our life with gratitude.

Message from the Founder - Christina R. Murray

HOMEgirl by CRM (Christina R. Murray) is a nod to the familiar term of endearment “Homegirl” heard around neighborhoods, college campuses, and Hip Hop Communities. Breaking it down further, “Girl” is a term of endearment used by grown women of color to greet, uplift, and sometimes reprimand each other. Though “girlhood” in the literal sense, may now be a distant memory or a vicarious experience, we proudly hold on to a “girlish” state of mind even as we share wisdom with our daughters, granddaughters, nieces, mentees. We wax poetic about bygone eras like Dashiki’s, College, Hip Hop, etc.

At its crux, the “Home” in HomeGirl bespeaks the comfort of all we’ve known and the things that evoke a feeling of belonging and authenticity — whether it’s on’s domain, social circle, region, country, or simply a state of mind. Like you true BFF or family member who has been with you through the decades and multiple hairstyles, HomeGirl affirms, celebrates, and mirrors the beauty, intelligence, and originality of where we’re from, who we are, and who were are becoming.
